This tour takes you away from the business from Bukit Lawang to the charming and remote area of the Landak River. On the way you will visit the Bat Cave.The Landak River is located on the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park. The surrounding nature is beautiful, very quiet and peaceful. The hike there is wonderful in itself. Passing plantations, fields and dense jungle it takes about 1h to reach the Landak River. The bat cave is half way to Landak river.
You will walk through the cave with a guide. Here you can see amazing geological formations and many bats. There are 3 caves in a row, all with other bat species. Some of them are open towards the top and offer a view of dense jungle. You must partially climb through narrow crevices. Especially children will love it. You can do this just like the locals in flip flops or closed shoes.
Afterwards it goes on for a deserved cooling off to the beautiful Landak River. Here you have time to swim, relax and just enjoy the view! In the meantime, our guide will prepare a traditional barbecue. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, please let us know. We will do our best to meet your wishes.
During the whole hike your guide will explain many things about plants, fruits and animals.
