Itinerary

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Bukit Lawang at 9.00 am and start our trek into the jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park. We make no guarantees, but you might encounter wild orangutans, Thomas Leaf monkeys, gibbons, toucans, turtles, peacocks or monitor lizards.

First we pass public land with rubber and cocoa plantations before heading to the entrance of the national park. We explore the jungle and try to see orangutans in the wild.

During the hike (6-7 hours with breaks) we will inform you about the flora and fauna of the national park and tell you about the plants we use for traditional medicine. Afterwards we offer you a local lunch (vegetarian) and continue trekking through the jungle.

In the afternoon we arrive at a campsite near the Bohorok River. You can jump into the water or just relax. Later we either hike back to Bukit Lawang or raft down the river (+10 euros).
